Venus Rises as Evening Star

As Venus emerges from her Underworld Phase for approximately the last 90 days her meteoric rise coincides with the Winter Solstice 22 December 2022. Its a special year for me as I will be performing a Poetry and Soundscape Walk in Beauty in Heptonstall, West Yorkshire and then taking the show to Las Angeles in March 2023.

As Venus ascends in the next 9 months she passes through 7 Gates, mirroring the Myth of Inanna. To consciously follow her path is a living initiation which astrologers, and especially women have followed for thousands of years. This is the phase of the cycle when Venus as Inanna regains her power and reclaims all she had to let go of in the Morning Star Phase.

Now she has reached a certain level of maturity and self-assurance. Stripped back to her pure, naked self she knows she can find the resources she needs within her own being and so she becomes less reliant on outer desires and crutches. The exquisiteness and wildness of her true spontaneous nature arises like an ocean wave.

The first Gate of the cycle, which correlates to the Root Chakra in is on Monday 23rd January 2023 in Gene Key 30.1 called Celestial Fire in the iChing. It moves from Desire to Lightness to Rapture. This is a great marker of the deepest issues we will address during this initiation - our desire nature. How can we follow and explore it without getting our wings burnt? How can we move into something other than repression or full indulgence using our desire nature to elevate consciousness? If we are in the peri menopause or menopause phase of life how may we channel and enjoy our sensual nature as women?

I invite you if you are reading this to join a group of women travelling this initiatory path between January and July. At each Gate we will have a ceremony with creativity at its heart on zoom co-facilitated by all members of the group. In this way each person creates something unique for themselves but we also see our beautiful interconnectedness too.
